About the faculty and department

As a faculty member in the Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications program, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact not only on the lives of students but also on the advancement of knowledge within the field. By fostering a dynamic learning environment, conducting cutting-edge research, and engaging in academic service activities, you will contribute to the continued success and reputation of the program and inspire the next generation of digital media and communication professionals.


About the position

The Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications program invites applications for sessional instructor positions available for the Winter 2025 (January) academic term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates.

January 13 – April 6, 2025

Per course rate: $7,200 (paid in installments)


DMGC 530 Research Methods in Digital Media & Communications

DMGC 540 Design Thinking and Digital Media

DMGC 550 Interactive Communications

DMGC 560: International Advertising

DMGC 570: Tools of Digital Media

DMGC 580: Digital Storytelling & Brands

DMGC 610: Data Analytics in Digital Media

DMGC 620: The Present of Digital Communication: Metaverse, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Neuromarketing (Optional

DMGC 630: Digital Visualization

DMGC 640: Digital Media Entrepreneurship


This is a hybrid role. Sessional instructors are required to teach on -site for a minimum of 2 days per week, though this will depend on their teaching schedule.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly lecture, review lecture material
  • Lecture and teach students in a variety of delivery modes, creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Invigilate quizzes, tests & exams, complete grading of quizzes, tests, assignments & exams
  • Meet with or respond to students’ inquiries during office hours
  • Update material and grades on internal software


The successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • A Doctorate/Ph.D. in Digital Media, Communications or a related field.
  • Teaching experience in the topics of: Multimedia Technology and Design, Intercultural Communications, Research Methods in Digital Media and Communications, Design Thinking & Digital Media, Interactive communications, Data Analytics in Digital Media, Digital Storytelling & Brands, Digital Visualization, Tools of Digital Media, Metaverse, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Neuromarketing, Quill for VR.
  • Related industry experience and expertise in Digital Marketing, Communications, Brand Marketing etc. to enhance student learning through real life scenarios and case studies.
  • Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is a significant asset.
  • Curriculum development experience for on-site, online and hybrid delivery.
  • Ability to mentor and advise students in their academic and professional endeavors.
