Vancouver, Canada InCommon Full time

Staff Software Engineer This range is provided by InCommon. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr InCommon is hiring on behalf of a US-based firm. Position Summary We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer who combines deep technical capability with strong coordination skills. You’ll be hands-on in building scalable systems, while also ensuring client needs are clearly translated into delivery. Beyond coding, you’ll be the bridge between engineering, clients, and internal teams—keeping delivery smooth, blockers removed, and expectations managed. This role is ideal for a senior individual contributor who thrives on ownership and wants to shape both the technical direction and delivery process—without stepping away from the code. About the Company Podifi is a Palo Alto–based product development company helping global startups and enterprises build full-stack applications with lean, AI-augmented teams. Their model emphasizes speed, clarity, and measurable outcomes over output—blending product, design, and engineering into solutions that directly drive business impact. What You’ll Own Hands-on Engineering – Design, build, and maintain scalable systems and clean, efficient code. Feature Ownership – Translate client requirements into actionable technical work; ensure smooth delivery from design to release. Troubleshooting – Investigate and resolve complex issues quickly, whether raised by clients or internal teams. Technical Leadership – Guide engineers through problem-solving, enforce quality standards, and help improve overall system design. Client & Team Alignment – Join client discussions, share progress, clarify requirements, and keep priorities aligned across projects. Process & Impact – Identify gaps in delivery, propose improvements, and shape ways of working that increase quality and productivity. What We’re Looking For 6–10 years of software engineering experience, with strong backend or full-stack expertise. Proven ability to design and ship complex systems in modern frameworks and cloud environments. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills; can own critical issues end-to-end. Clear communicator—able to explain technical details to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders in a technical role. Comfortable operating independently in a distributed, fast-moving environment. Nice to Have Exposure to AI/ML systems or tools. Familiarity with Agile or lightweight, outcome-driven delivery models. #J-18808-Ljbffr
