Satellite Director

POSITION TITLE:  Satellite Director

POSITION TYPE: Ministry Director

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

The Satellite Director will work with local teams of staff and volunteers to minister to youth and families involved in local YFC programming, as well as partner with local steering committees to further the ministry of YFC in their community and region. 

MINISTRY DUTIES (50%)

1. Strategize and implement the overall ministry goals and objectives.
2. Engage in evangelism and discipleship of participants.
3. Facilitate resource-based connections for the program and participants with community partners.
4. Participate in planning and off-site opportunities.
5. Invest in and develop staff and volunteers working in local ministry opportunities

COMMUNITY RELATIONS (20%)

1.  Participate in recruiting and orientation of volunteers.
2. Actively work with local partners to grow both existing ministries and develop potential sites in communities identifying an opportunity for YFC to join their local work. 
3. Provide prayer support, nurture, and encouragement for volunteers.
4. Represent WYFC positively to the community.
5. Develop and nurture strong working relationships with other agencies and ministries.

MEETINGS (15%)

1.  Meet with supervisor regularly.
2. Attend WYFC and ministry team meetings.
3. Meet with the Local Ministry Team for Program Planning and Evaluation
4. Meet with Satellite Steering Committees.

PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (5%)

1.     Ministry Partnership Development – includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position. 

2.     As found in WYFC MPD Guidelines, accountable to engagement in the process of gathering financial support from both the Christian community and local partners on behalf of the local ministries.

3.     Build a base of prayer partners and keep them updated through regular communications and prayer requests. Encourage prayer partners to pray for youth in Westman and globally.

4.     Participate in Westman YFC Fundraising Events

1. Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
2. Pray for and with WYFC Team.
3. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
4. Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
5. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
6. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.

ADMINISTRATION (5%)

1. Complete required ministry reports and expense forms.
2. Complete all record keeping in designated forms.
3. Adhere to the WYFC Policy Manual.
4. Abide by Health and Safety Requirements.
5. Assist in the upkeep of WYFC Facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Applicants must reflect on and sign the WYFC Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
• Precision, detail-oriented, patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to all persons and able to exercise discretion, compassion, and empathy, and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in leadership and working with boards
• Effective interpersonal and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team setting and utilize sound judgment to perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision.
• A confident self-starter, able to meet challenges, and to overcome obstacles.
• Must pass criminal record check, child abuse registry check and vulnerable sector check.
• A valid class 5 drivers license and available to travel throughout western Manitoba
