Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control, the Supervisor, Stores and Inventory Control will be responsible for maintaining high standards of performance by the Stores’ team, and will play an important role in creation & enforcement of policies & procedures as they relate to material handling responsibilities. This is a hands‑on role that requires exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example and motivate fellow team members. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day activity of the entire Stores department by planning daily workloads, assigning priority tasks and coordinating the efficient flow of parts and material to aircraft Conduct training of all new hires while working closely with Quality Assurance to maintain and update all Training Manuals and Procedures as required Ensure company policies and regulations are being followed by all Stores personnel and actively assess, address and correct any issues that may arise Establish and develop reports and KPIs related to workflow improvement and performance analysis, make recommendations to improve overall performance Draft detailed process instructions to describe the various functions related to the Stores department and ensure they are being followed by all Stores personnel Make adjustments to daily schedules as required to account for sick calls, overtime & vacation to ensure the operation is fully staffed 24/7 Monitor & ensure accuracy across all Stores functions, including receiving, shipping, storage, handling, unserviceable material flow etc. Work with the Inventory Control Administrator and Tooling Coordinator to assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, monthly financial reporting and other inventory related duties Monitor and coordinate with all other bases to ensure inventory related procedures are accomplished as needed Ensure communication with the Manager regarding daily operational issues and events as well as general employee performance Mentor Stores team members through regular 1:1’s and feedback sessions in order to build strong relationships and instill a culture of safety, efficiency and continuous improvement Work closely with the Purchasing, Warranty & Repairs teams in order to ensure the smooth flow of incoming parts and outgoing unserviceable material Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy Perform other duties as assigned, back up to the Manager, Network Warehouse Operations as required Behavioural Competencies Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others. Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals. Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers). Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise. Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards. Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus. Qualifications A college/university degree in Aviation, Business Administration or Supply Chain field is an asset 3-5 years of Aviation experience is preferred (Preferably in Stores, Inventory Control and/or Logistics) 1-2 years of leadership experience is an asset Experience with AMOS or similar aviation ERP systems an asset Must be able to effectively plan and manage resources, both people and time, and lead under pressure & time constraints Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts in critical situations Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Must be extremely organized and detail oriented Must have a valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract Must be available to work 12 hour rotating day shifts, , including weekends and holidays - *This is a 24/7 operation Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass and AVOP within 6 months of employment Location Toronto (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport - YTZ) #LI-Onsite Company Description Since 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
