Test Infrastructure Development Team Overview The Test Infrastructure Development Team designs and delivers advanced X-ray test systems used throughout Redlen’s Photon Counting Computed Tomography (PCCT) CZT sensor manufacturing process. The team integrates electronics, firmware/FPGA, software, and mechanical design to create robust, automated, and safe test platforms. Role Overview As a Test Hardware Development Engineer (Electronics), you will contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of electrical systems for Redlen’s test platforms. This role focuses on PCB design, system integration, and ensuring compliance with high-voltage and radiation safety standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable test equipment that supports Redlen’s scaling toward high-volume production. Key Responsibilities Test Equipment Development Support design and integration of electrical systems for automated testers, including power distribution and signal interfaces. Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs. Ensure test stations meet safety and durability requirements for production environments. System Bring-Up & Maintenance Assist in bring-up and qualification of new test systems, including troubleshooting and calibration. Perform preventive maintenance and servicing of electrical systems. Support compliance with radiation safety, high-voltage DC, and CSA standards. Automation & Integration Develop and maintain basic automation scripts (e.g., Python) for control and data collection. Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to align electrical designs with embedded system requirements. Documentation & Standards Maintain design documentation in Altium and Redlen’s PLM tools. Apply best practices for grounding, shielding, and signal integrity. Contribute to SOPs and technical documentation for test equipment. Participate in peer reviews and provide feedback on electrical designs. Communicate system capabilities and limitations to stakeholders. Work closely with vendors for component sourcing and system fabrication. Qualifications Experience 3+ years of experience in electrical system design or test equipment development. Hands-on experience with PCB layout, schematic capture, and electronics assembly. Exposure to high-voltage systems and safety standards is an asset. Skills Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium or similar). Familiarity with digital communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, RS-485). Basic scripting skills (Python preferred). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills in English. Preferred Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or automation frameworks. Familiarity with PLM tools and CAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight). Knowledge of EMC/EMI considerations in PCB design. Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent). Perform additional duties as assigned. $85,000-115,000 CAD At Redlen, we prioritize clarity in our hiring process. The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
