We are currently looking to recruit a full-time permanent Intermediate Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Associate (not yet licenced) to work under the direction of the Sr. Project Manager and supervise and mentor junior staff. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in our Kingston, ON, office and some travel to project sites. A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing engineering concepts from preliminary data
  • Preparing preliminary and detailed design drawings associated with municipal infrastructure and Land Development projects which include roads, sewers, watermain, site grading, site layout, stormwater management systems and site servicing
  • Preparing engineering calculations and documents
  • Preparing costing analysis
  • Preparing tender documents, including construction contracts and technical specifications
  • Providing construction documents as required for construction contracts and engineering certifications
  • Working collaboratively and coordinating with the project team, clients, and approval agencies
  • Ensuring that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Managing projects on behalf of the client to meet their needs including, but not limited to, managing contractors, project budgets and schedules
  • Writing correspondence to external agencies, clients and project team members


The qualifications required include:


  • A Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited University
  • A valid engineering license with PEO, or eligibility to be licensed upon completion of required working experience
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience (eligible to be licensed in 2-3 years)
  • Previous experience in the field of land development projects including: lot grading design and earthworks, storm drainage, stormwater management systems and servicing for storm, sanitary, and water, preparation of civil engineering design drawings and reports, preparation of documents required during tender and construction phases
  • A solid background in design and a strong understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Possess strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with coworkers, clients, and contractors
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritize, manage deadlines and multi-task
  • Have very strong work ethic, including accountability, honesty, integrity, and transparency
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
  • Authorization to work in Canada
