Huawei Canada – Legal Counsel (Permanent, Immediate) Huawei Canada is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join the Quality & Operation Department. The role involves providing efficient legal support across a range of business areas and ensuring compliance with Canadian law. About the team The Quality & Operation Department supports procurement, finance, IT services and more. The team focuses on solving complex problems under tight deadlines while delivering world‑class service. About the job Provide knowledgeable legal support to the business. Draft, review and negotiate contracts, including procurement agreements, leases, research and development agreements, and services agreements. Advise internal business teams on legal matters such as employment, privacy and data protection, corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and more. Support litigation, settlement and dispute resolution efforts. Communicate with headquarters in China and localize HQ’s legal requirements in Canada. Track legislative developments and maintain resources of external counsels. Provide legal advice on all other matters as they arise. What you'll bring to the team Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized university. Member of the Ontario bar in good standing. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department, specializing in employment law, general corporate and commercial law. Strong negotiation, drafting and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload. Business‑minded with sound and practical business judgement.
