We’re seeking a Manager, Community Relations to help us maintain, nurture and grow these important relationships. Reporting to the Senior VP, Brand and Social Impact, the Manager, Community Relations will be responsible for expanding the presence of the teams within the community and building awareness, excitement, and engagement for the REDBLACKS and 67’s. The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement of OSEG’s reputation by developing and executing programs, organizing various team events and public appearances. The role is also responsible for developing and fostering new community partnerships to raise the profile of the teams and create sustainable community links. This full-time, permanent role has an annual salary range of $62,200 to $76,200, with 100% employer-paid benefits. The final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work either fully on-site or in a hybrid arrangement. What you’ll do Develop a strategy to build and maintain programs and initiatives that serve to have a positive impact and assist in building brand affinity for the 67’s and REDBLACKS. Solicit and assess new initiatives to achieve social impact outcomes aligned with corporate, team and league goals. Work with colleagues across the organization to develop external enterprise-wide community engagement and identify opportunities to amplify outcomes. Establish relationships and build a network of community partners with schools, amateur sport organizations and not for profit groups. Represent OSEG at events and serve as spokesperson for community initiatives. Organize and scheduling athlete community appearances. Supervise entertainers to serve as mascots. Providing support for operations, sales & service, and sponsorship integrations with community projects and services. Facilitate in-kind donation requests through the REDBLACKS and 67’s online donation platform. Develop and deliver on reporting and budgets in alignment with business priorities. What’s needed Completion of a post secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Event Management, or related field. 3 -5 years of experience in sports and entertainment preferred. Bilingualism in English and French preferred. Prior experience in program development and event management. Must be creative, strategic, highly organized with strong project management skills. Motivated, self-starter with a no-task-too-small attitude. Demonstrated interest in working with community groups. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with athletes. Experience with multiculturalism and application of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion principles. Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task and collaborate. Ability to regularly work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekend. Valid driver’s license.
