People like youJob DescriptionReporting to the Production Manager the successful candidate will focus on producing a high quality product by leading employees to maintain a high level of awareness on safety, environmental and process compliance.Beneufb01tsCompetitive salary - $85,000 - $99,000Health Insurance (includes Virtual Health, and HCSA), Dental Insurance, Vision InsuranceLife Insurance, Long-term Disability, Short-term DisabilityRRSP MatchPaid VacationFloating DaysEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Engagement EventsAwards and RecognitionTuition reimbursementService AwardsEmployee Perks & DiscountsJob ResponsibilitiesManage the on-going development, performance, and day-to-day supervision of assigned shift personnel in order to maintain quality standards and increase production levelsPlan and manage scheduling for production teamProvide manufacturing leadership in a unionized environment, including discipline and performance management of employees as necessaryImprove existing processes through the application of lean tools and techniques and the upkeep all of all department documentationIdentify training and development needs and personal growth opportunities for employees, coaching and motivating individuals to achieve resultsConduct training, cross training and rotation of employees for product, process and employee developmentEnsure employees are trained on procedures relating to safety, production, and qualityEnsure adherence to company and OSHA safety regulations, conduct safety work inspections as requiredConducts weekly crew meetings for communication of safety, quality and production changes and goalsEvaluates team membersu2019 performance and progress toward individual skill improvementsDevelop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productOperate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality proceduresIdentify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner, assist in the resolution of quality production problemsInvestigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, accidents and hazards identificationAssures that a clean and safe working environment is maintained at all timesWork closely with other production supervisors to ensure consistencyPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualificationsPost-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or managementMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role; Experience specifically in a high-speed, continuous process manufacturing environment is an assetStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environmentStrong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employeesExcellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skillsProven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talentExcellent time management, planning, and organizational skillsProficient in MS OfficeExperience in a unionized manufacturing environment an assetKnowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an assetHours and Expectations:12 hours shifts working on modified Dupont scheduleOpen availability, ability to work shift, weekend and overtime workSubject to 24 hour on call dutiesNote: This is a Safety Sensitive position#LI-DI1Benefits of Employment: IKO recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
