Working from our office in Stouffville, Ontario and as the leader of WOLF's engineering team, the Vice President of Engineering at WOLF will oversee the engineering division, driving innovation in AI processing and video technologies. The role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on involvement in technology development, particularly in VPX, VNX, MXM, SFF, and XMC board design. The VP will work closely with WOLF senior sales and engineering management and the world's top defense and aerospace prime contractors. Moreover, the VP of Engineering role is responsible for maintaining adherence to VITA, SOSA, CMOSS, and MOSA standards, as well AS9001 and AS9100D quality, and Defense and Aerospace standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:  Develop and implement a strategic engineering roadmap in alignment with the company’s business objectives.
  • Technology Leadership:  Spearheading the development of new technologies, mainly NVIDIA GPU-based AI processing boards and AMD/Xilinx video boards.
  • Team Management:  Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of urgency, innovation, and excellence.
  • Quality Assurance:  Ensure compliance with ISO9001, AS9100D, and other relevant quality and defense standards.
  • Client Engagement:  Engage with defense and aerospace prime contractors to understand their technical requirements and challenges.
  • Budget Management:  Oversee the engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Product Development:  Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production to market launch.
  • Risk Management:  Identify and mitigate technical risks and bottlenecks.
  • Cross-functional collaboration:  Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that engineering efforts align with market demands.
  • Intellectual Property:  Oversee the management and protection of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.


Qualifications

  • Education:  Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. PhD preferred.
  • Experience:  Minimum of 15 years in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a high-technology, defense, or aerospace company.
  • Technical Skills:  Deep expertise in VPX, VNX, MXM, SFF, and XMC board design, NVIDIA GPUs, ARM, and INTEL CPUs, AMD/Xilinx FPGAs, GPUs and PCIe Gen-4 and Gen-5 PCIe and Ethernet switches.
  • Certifications:  Familiarity with SOSA, VITA, MOSA, CMOSS, JOSCAR, GIDEP, Military and Defense design and testing standards.
  • Soft Skills:  Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
