Senior Java/Python Developer Location: Mississauga, ON | Pay: Contract-based Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Senior Java/Python Developer. This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule. You will need reliable internet, a computer, and an Android or iPhone for remote access into the client systems during remote work. Remote work is expected, with office visits weekly 3 days depending on team requirement. Video/f2f interviews are required prior to all offers. Responsibilities Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals and identify necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements. Resolve a variety of high-impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards. Provide expertise in the area and advanced knowledge of applications programming, ensuring application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation. Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals. Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions. Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Clientgroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications 8-12 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development. Proficiency with frameworks such as Spring Boot. Able to implement high throughput, low-latency, extremely reliable frameworks. Deep understanding of Java technology such as garbage collection internal, dependency injection, annotation, threading model, and synchronization primitives. Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Experience with message brokers such as Kafka. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Education Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
