Vice President, Corporate Development - Biotechnology Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Overview A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Development to drive growth through licensing, partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic transactions. Reporting to the CEO, this executive will monetize intellectual property, cultivate relationships with multinational partners, and position the organization as a transaction‑ready platform. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a corporate development roadmap emphasizing licensing, joint ventures, and inorganic growth. Originate, structure, and negotiate strategic transactions with global partners across pharma, consumer health, and adjacent sectors. Support capital markets activities, including fundraising, investor relations, and potential public‑markets pathways. Partner with finance leadership on valuation, financial modeling, and scenario planning for prospective deals. Maintain insight into competitive dynamics across relevant therapeutic and technology categories. Represent the organization in external discussions with bankers, investors, and strategic advisors. Qualifications 10+ years in corporate development, investment banking, or licensing within biotechnology, life sciences, or adjacent regulated industries. Proven track record executing high‑value licensing and/or M&A transactions. Established senior‑level network across pharma, consumer health, and related verticals. Familiarity with cross‑border and public‑markets transaction processes. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills; able to bridge science with commercial and financial strategy.
