This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life‑changing technology to patients We are seeking a curious, self‑driven, and technically strong Engineering Research Scientist to support the exploration of new design principles, manufacturing process improvements, and materials for future iterations of the Globe System. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, research‑focused environment and is passionate about solving complex engineering challenges. Please note, this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. Meaningful work you will be a part of You will engage in activities that develop practical and transferable skills such as: Assisting the Special Engineering Projects team with exploring new solutions for the development of next‑generation Globe devices. Researching alternative and improved manufacturing methods, including joining techniques, surface treatment, coating, plating, and sealing. Designing and conducting experiments using a methodical and systematic approach, applying the scientific method and Design of Experiment (DoE) principles. Documenting and analyzing test results to inform product and manufacturing process design decisions. Communicating effectively with your teammates to evaluate feasibility and implementation of new processes. Occasionally assisting with the assembly and testing of new design prototypes. You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: Strong understanding of the scientific method, and good instincts for experimental design Ability to efficiently identify key sensitivities in physical and chemical systems, and to support hypotheses with evidence from testing. Ability to perform literature reviews, and to pick out relevant information from peer‑reviewed literature. Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, and mechanical assembly. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners. A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
