Position overview: This is an exciting opportunity to have a lead role in overseeing the Information Technology (IT) and Data Security function at one of Volaris’ fastest growing portfolios, Omegro. We have an ambitious vision for growth through our current businesses and acquisitions; in the context of ever-increasing Data Security and Governance, Risk, and Compliance requirements. Working closely with the Chief of Staff, Omegro’s sub-portfolios, and the various Business Leaders, you will have an excellent opportunity to develop and implement IT and Data Security strategies, and play an important role as we acquire, strengthen, and grow an expanding Portfolio. Leveraging your broad technical background and proven track record as a Senior IT and Data Security leader, you will bring a strong work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with business owners and leaders and support them with hands‑on improvements. You will have leadership responsibility for other IT and Data Security professionals around the world, while working in a collaborative environment with peers from other Volaris portfolios. Duties & responsibilities: Overall responsibility for the Portfolio’s IT, Data Security & Risk Management effectiveness. Develop a Portfolio IT & Data Security strategy that allows Omegro to scale autonomously while ensuring it complies with Volaris’ corporate standards and governance framework. Review the current state of Omegro’s IT & Data Security compliance with Volaris’ Governance, Risk Compliance framework, and play an important role in oversight, compliance, control setting, and auditing. Benchmark, audit, and drive continuous improvement in the IT and Data Security maturity and posture of our businesses. Participate in Omegro AI and Data Security Committees, understanding and advising how Portfolios and businesses can leverage and deliver to the group security strategy. Create Portfolio IT & Data Security reporting and dashboards that are reviewed with the executive leadership team regularly. Take IT and Data Security leadership for Merger & Acquisition transactions; identifying risks and proposing solutions to IT and Data Security issues found during due diligence. For all new acquisitions, develop an IT & Data Security integration and compliance checklist and implementation plan, overseeing its implementation. Support each business (including being hands‑on as required) to improve the IT and Data Security maturity. Oversight of Omegro IT and Data Security talent. Track and manage Omegro’s IT spend, benchmarking, and working to consolidate and reduce operating costs and improve the efficient use of assets across the portfolio. Understand IT infrastructure investments and asset acquisition needs and identify areas of optimization, risk mitigation, and cost‑efficiency. Undertake special projects and analysis as required by Omegro or Volaris. Education and experience: Minimum 10+ years of IT experience, including infrastructure, networks and on‑premise and cloud‑based systems, preferably in a consultative capacity to an architectural level. Broad awareness/experience of best practices, process improvement and technical controls. In depth understanding of various Data Security & Privacy regulations and standards, such as EU GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, etc. Deep understanding of Data Security vulnerabilities, threats, and best practices. Proven track record of building strong working relationships with business and IT partners. Experience building and supporting a global IT/Security team. Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make Portfolio level decisions while building trust within Omegro and the Volaris head office IT and Data Security organizations. Experience working with Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks; including analysing, recommending, implementing, and auditing. Strong project management skills coordinating multiple concurrent complex and high priority projects. Track record of solving large, complex problems and producing measurable results. Self‑starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Required skills Detail oriented yet pragmatic. Passionate about Data Security and protecting digital assets. Growth mindset and thirsty to learn. Have a high ethical standards and a professional attitude. Experience in both SaaS and on-premise environments would be highly beneficial. Requirements The role can be performed via hybrid or remote in Toronto (or greater surrounding area) requiring you to have the right to work, and additionally the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
