We are seeking a detail‑oriented Demolition Estimator with 2–5 years of experience in Structure Demolition, Selective Demolition & hazardous materials abatement. The estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and tender submissions for Demolition & Abatement. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include analyzing project plans and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, collaborating with project teams, and managing subcontractor and supplier relationships. The role also entails performing risk assessments, maintaining cost databases, and contributing to the development of winning project proposals. Estimating & Quantity Takeoffs Perform detailed takeoffs for Structural, Selective and full building demolition projects. Interpret drawings, geotechnical, environmental & DSS reports, project specifications and addenda. Use estimating and modelling software (e.g., Plan Swift , Bluebeam, Civil 3D, etc.) to generate quantities. Familiarity with Abatement types, Soil Types, Compaction requirements and disposal/hauling requirements. Understanding of excavation safety standards (OSHA) and Shoring requirements. Prepare complete cost estimates including labour, equipment, materials, trucking, disposal, and subcontractor pricing. Develop production rates and crew/equipment selections based on past performance and industry standards. Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and scope alignment. Prepare and assemble bid submissions, including pricing schedules, clarifications, and assumptions. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and review addenda. Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, safety requirements, and local regulations. Project Support Assist project managers in budget hand‑offs, change order pricing, and cost tracking. Help prepare a Detailed Schedule for the successful project delivery. Provide value‑engineering suggestions to improve productivity and reduce project costs. Review drawing revisions and update estimates as required. Participate in Tender reviews, risk assessments, & project handover meetings. Support budgeting efforts for ongoing or future projects. Track project cost performance and provide feedback for estimating improvements. Qualifications 2-5 Years Experience in construction, civil or demolition. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) Strong understanding of Demolition methods, production rates, Abatement types, and construction equipment. Proficiency with Planswift, Civil 3D, Bluebeam or similar tools (asset). Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration. Organizational and time‑management abilities to prioritize multiple projects within deadlines. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
