Database Developer (this is NOT a DBA role). We are looking for a Database Developer with strong practical experience in designing and implementing database schemas from scratch. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of data modeling concepts , SQL performance optimization , and data architecture best practices . This role will involve close collaboration with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to translate business requirements into robust, scalable database designs. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop end-to-end database schemas , including tables, relationships, primary/foreign keys, indexes, and constraints based on business requirements. Build and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions . Collaborate with application and analytics teams to integrate data models with reporting and operational systems. Implement data quality, governance, and version control processes for schema changes. Troubleshoot database performance issues and recommend design or indexing improvements. Work closely with architects to align database structures with enterprise data architecture and cloud strategy. Required Skills and Experience: Strong hands-on experience in MS SQL Server (database design, development, and optimization). Proven experience in data modeling – building new data structures and schemas from scratch. Expertise in SQL query tuning and performance optimization . Solid understanding of data normalization, denormalization, relationships, and constraints . Experience working with ETL/ELT tools and data integration pipelines . Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with MemSQL / SingleStore or similar distributed SQL databases. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Exposure to modern data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, etc.).
