Career Opportunities# 2026 First Year Summer Law StudentTorontoTemporary Full-Time## OverviewThere are currently openings for first year summer students at Blakes. The summer student program at Blakes allows students to experience what it is like to practice law at a top tier law firm, get to know Blakes lawyers and gain an understanding for the Firm’s culture. Students will complete two rotations over the course of the summer, and they will be assigned a mentor in each rotation. The mentor’s role is to facilitate students professional training and skills development. Another way the Firm assists students in enjoying their summer is through social events. These events ensure that students get to know one another as well as lawyers at the Firm.Blakes has more than 600 lawyers in offices across Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, New York and London. The Firm handles transactions of all sizes and levels of complexity, including issues which are local or multijurisdictional, practice-area specific or interdisciplinary.Blakes is committed to providing legal services within a workplace environment that is rich in its diversity of perspectives, backgrounds and cultures.
