Position Summary We are looking for an ambitious Manager – Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, ideally with business intelligence experience in either management consulting or the professional services industry, who above all wants to do high quality, impactful work they can take pride in. As a Manager, you will work at the intersection of business acumen and data analytics, and lead a team of talented professionals on projects that transform our clients’ data into actionable insights, driving business decisions and strategies. You will oversee the development and maintenance of BI tools, databases, and analytics platforms, building a strong framework for our clients to analyze trends and performance. For this role, we are looking for someone with initiative, competitive drive, and an ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions. This is a client-facing role with a fast pacing, so the ability to learn very quickly and thoroughly under changing circumstances is very important. As a Manager, it will be important to drive the execution of a project in a timely manner and on budget. Coaching, training, and working through complex problem solving with the team is essential, and finding a balance between delegating tasks to the team, but also withholding the responsibility for follow-up, accountability, and achieving project delivery to clients while meeting high quality standards. Our company is on a hybrid model, with the entire team in-office (Yonge/Sheppard) Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the balance of days at home. Responsibilities Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses, dashboards, reports, and other BI tools Developing and implementing comprehensive business intelligence strategies to support data-driven decision-making Managing a team of BI professionals and guiding their project work, ensuring project execution per client and company standards, on the requested timeline and within the defined project budget Working with clients to identify their data analysis needs and deliver actionable insights Set and uphold a high-quality bar for the accuracy and integrity of data across all platforms and systems Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements in BI technologies to maintain a competitive edge Conducting regular audits of BI tools and processes to identify opportunities for improvement Leading the interpretation of data analysis results and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and clients Establishing governance and best practices around data handling, quality, and security Managing the budget for BI projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented Facilitating cross-functional projects and initiatives that rely on data insights for success Championing a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting the use of BI insights in everyday business processes High performers are given accelerated responsibility, increased client exposure, and compensation growth in line with Sapling’s pay-for-performance culture. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration and Management, Economics, or Finance). Work experience in specialized consulting firms, elite advisory environments, or top-tier financial institutions. 5+ years of full-time professional experience in executing business intelligence projects, and 2+ years of leadership experience, either leading people or managing projects in high-performance, high-accountability cultures with demanding stakeholders. Deep understanding of data architectures, databases, and data warehousing Experience in the implementation and maintenance of BI tools and platforms, including the following aspects: Warehousing and ETL Processes, SQL and Database Querying, Data Visualization and Reporting Tools, and Business Analytics and Data Mining Experience working with cloud computing and services (Azure, AWS, GCP) BI Software Proficiency (Power BI, Tableau) Advanced Excel and statistical analysis Experience in implementing ERP systems such as NetSuite or MS Dynamics 365 is highly desirable but not a must Experience in project management and coordination of cross-functional teams, managing project timelines and budget, and ensuring projects meet their objectives Demonstrated success at building effective client relationships Ability to lead with a positive attitude and approach challenges head-on Strong dedication to the team and excellent work ethic, as well as enthusiasm about going above and beyond to ensure our clients achieve their business goals Application Details Start Date: ASAP Location: Toronto Application Materials: Resume Cover Letter focusing on your career achievements and goals and how they apply or translate to this role Answering a couple of questions on our online form Sapling Financial Consultants is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
