Manager, Privacy Advisory Services Scotiabank Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Responsibilities Champions a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Conducts Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) of new Bank initiatives and provides advice and counsel to businesses with respect to the privacy program and procedures. Provides support and oversight of PIAs performed by Global Privacy Officers, ensuring quality assurance of PIAs, prepares letters of certification, and administers PIA documents. Acts as the subject‑matter expert for technology, data, analytics, and AI Privacy Impact Assessments and Advisory Services. Prepares reporting and communication of PIA findings to business units and tracks outstanding items by liaising with business lines and project teams. Recommends improvements to the effectiveness of privacy controls to the Senior Manager. Collaborates with counterparts in Compliance, legal and other control functions to ensure consistency and alignment on best practices across the organization. Supports the tracking and monitoring of control function and internal audit requests of the Enterprise Privacy Office. Considers the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy of business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high‑performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree required; Law Degree preferred. Privacy certification preferred (e.g., CIPT, AIGP). Background in Legal, Consulting, or Compliance preferable. Hands‑on experience in technology, data analytics or AI is an asset. 3‑5 years of privacy experience preferred. Spanish fluency is an asset.
