Support prescription processing and pharmacy services as a Pharmacy Assistant at Shoppers Drug Mart. Deliver timely, pleasant customer service while maintaining accuracy and privacy.
This Pharmacy Assistant role supports technical dispensing functions, pharmacy operations, and services guided by Pharmacy Standards of Practice. You will gather prescription information, process refills, enter data, and prepare prescriptions according to company standards. The position also includes customer service, administrative coordination, billing, filing, and pharmacist referrals. Shoppers Drug Mart stores are locally owned and operated within a national brand network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather prescription information according to established standards
- Process new prescriptions and refill requests accurately
- Count, measure, package, and label prescriptions
- Refer clinical inquiries and counseling needs to pharmacists
- Maintain dispensary cash registers and prescription transactions
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Pharmacy Assistant credited course diploma preferred
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
