At Senerwe know that, with the right people on board, everything is possible. We areseeking a Senior Structural Engineering to join our Toronto team. This is a new role to add to an existing team. This will be a hybrid role and be based in our downtown office 3 days per week with some project office visits. Must be living locally to the Toronto area. This position will be to work on projects for Rail transit infrastructures (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars). As the Structural Engineer Lead you will be responsible for: Assist our clients in the conceptual design definition, helping in technical feasibility and constructability. Lead a structural team for the design process. Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner. Present the alternatives, and the design to the contractor and the client. Review technical documentation and identify critical defects. Provide guidance to modelers for the BIM model and drawing production. Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes. Develop structural details and construction plans. Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil structural engineering Master’s degree in Structural Engineering Registered P. Eng. in Ontario is mandatory Registered OIQ in Quebec is an asset Minimum 13-15 years relevant experience in structural design and rail & transit projects Experience with complex construction projects involving P3, Infrastructure and/or underground LRT and subway Expertise in reinforced concrete structures Desirable knowledge of pre-stress concrete and precast construction Desirable knowledge of steel structure Desirable knowledge of underground structures, geostructures (Support of Excavation, walls, invert slabs, cut-and-cover structures) Technical competency in the design of structural building systems Knowledge and understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000 and Robot Structural Analysis is expected Experience with Microsoft Office, Navisworks, Bluebeam desirable Knowledge and understanding of relevant design standards and codes Project management and coordination skills with a strong ability to provide leadership and motivation to project structural teams.
