Other exciting projects and tasks may be assigned by supervisor.**We Offer You:**u2022 Modern and clean work environmentu2022 Industry leading technology and toolsu2022 Competitive salaryu2022 Attractive shift premiumsu2022 New equipment and technology from variety of suppliers/dealershipsu2022 RRSP program with company matchu2022 Affordable health & dental benefit packageu2022 Free uniforms and laundry serviceu2022 Tool and boots allowanceu2022 Vacation time + 11 paid statutory holidays + paid sick daysu2022 Tuition reimbursementu2022 Employee Assistance Programu2022 Comprehensive technical and professional trainingu2022 Opportunity for advancement throughout the companyu2022 Partneru2019s discounts**Major Responsibilities:**u2022 Perform all levels of preventive maintenance servicesu2022 Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orderu2022 Maintain work area appearance and safetyu2022 Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.u2022 Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manneru2022 Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.u2022 Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.u2022 Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.u2022 Adjust and replace brake, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.u2022 Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.u2022 Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.u2022 Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.u2022 Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.u2022 Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.u2022 Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor**Qualifications:**u2022 5+ years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance requiredu2022 Must possess respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310Tu2022 Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agenciesu2022 Current driver''s license class D or class 3 with air brake certification required or ability to obtain it within 6 months of being hiredu2022 Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools) requiredu2022 Basic computer skills requiredu2022 Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions requiredu2022 Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses preferredu2022 Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobu2022 Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers yards, close geographical area and training sites), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to employment reference checks.**Physical Requirements:**- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
