Our major client is seeking an intermediate Electrical Engineer, Medium Voltage (P.Eng.) to support the design, delivery, and execution of electrical power and motor control solutions for industrial clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects of varying size and complexity, collaborating with customers, project managers, designers, and field personnel while contributing to the technical growth and success of a high-performing engineering team.
Overview
The Electrical Engineer, Medium Voltage (P.Eng.) will be responsible for engineering and designing medium and low voltage power distribution systems for industrial applications. The successful candidate will bring hands‑on experience with medium voltage systems, motor control centres (MCCs), and variable frequency drives (VFDs), while taking ownership of engineering deliverables from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer medium voltage and low voltage power distribution systems, including MV switchgear, MCCs, VFD systems, and associated electrical equipment.
- Specify, select, and size motors, VFDs, transformers, protection devices, breakers, and related components for industrial applications.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables including single-line diagrams, load lists, schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules, bills of material, and technical specifications.
- Perform electrical engineering studies and calculations, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and harmonics analysis.
- Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Provide support during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities, including troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
