Process Engineering Lead/Senior Process Engineer

The Opportunity: Our Resources subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. This division provides a full range of services to industrial and mining projects, including all services offered in the field of engineering from conceptual and feasibility studies to complete detailed engineering in EPCM, to the closure and dismantling of mine sites. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Process Engineering Lead to join our teams located in our GTA offices in Ontario. As a Lead Process Engineer, you will function as the process discipline lead on projects ranging from conceptual studies to detailed engineering of large mega projects. Additional activities will include communication and coordination with team members, other WSP groups, equipment vendors, clients, and sub-contractors. Preparation of technical reports, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings, including review of deliverables produced by junior and intermediate colleagues. Process and technology selection, equipment sizing and specification, mass balance, hydraulic analysis, 3D layout review, including review of analysis and design by junior and intermediate colleagues. Mentoring and on-the-job training for junior and intermediate colleagues. Project management of multiple simultaneous projects, including project resource management (in conjunction with other team seniors) and personal time management; Providing project support for other senior staff as required; Supporting the management team with budgeting, strategy development and execution, staff reviews, and delivering training programs. Support in developing proposal and contributing to the sector’s business development activities. Primarily hybrid-based consulting engineering work with some opportunities for business travel and fieldwork. What you’ll bring to WSP: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. 12+ years' experience as a process engineer within the consulting environment with previous experience as a Lead. Experience in oil and gas (gas processing), mine infrastructure, utilities and industrial applications. Current P.Eng license in your province of residence. Experience with HYSIS, AFT Fathom or Promax software packages an asset. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
