Operate winter control equipment for the City of Waterloo at the Waterloo Service Centre, using snow removal vehicles and an articulated loader. Support safe transportation operations through seasonal shift work.
This temporary full-time Seasonal Labourer position lasts up to six months and reports to the Supervisor, Transportation Operations. Responsibilities include salt application, snow removal, equipment care, records, and related transportation services. The work also includes leaf collection, asphalt patching, and landscaping as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in winter control shift operations
- Apply salt and remove snow using vehicles
- Operate articulated loaders during winter control
- Complete daily checks on vehicles and equipment
- Maintain required written or electronic activity records
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- One to three years of related manual labour experience
- Working knowledge of salting, snow loading, and snow plowing
- Valid MTO DZ licence in good standing
- Willingness to attend Snow Fighter training
