This role is open to applicants authorized to work in Canada or the UK. As the Director of Evidence Reviews and Data Synthesis, you will bring a pragmatic mindset to client challenges, ensuring your team delivers the right balance of quality, efficiency, and timely execution. In addition to overseeing research activities, you will play a crucial role in business development efforts to expand the reach and impact of your department. Your strategic vision and ability to cultivate partnerships will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the organization. Importantly, you will ensure your team is supported, productive, and working sustainably. In this role, you will keep the department of evidence reviews running smoothly without requiring frequent involvement from upper management. You will be the primary leader responsible for team direction, prioritization, performance, workload balance, and day‑to‑day problem solving—creating an environment where people can do great work and no one quietly burns out. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys managing people and can combine empathy with firmness, clarity, and follow‑through. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the systematic review and data synthesis program, aligning goals with organizational objectives. Develop and implement innovative approaches to enhance the efficiency and quality of systematic review processes. Participate in leadership decisions related to the team, service offering, and corporate growth. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including following up on client prospects/leads and spearheading collaborative partnerships. Lead proposal development, including scoping, budgeting, preparing and delivering project proposals and pitches, and reviewing statements of work and change orders. Participate in networking events such as conferences and on‑site client meetings. Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of researchers, analysts, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes professional growth and development. Assign responsibilities, set goals, and evaluate performance to ensure the successful execution of projects. Strategic Expertise: Conceptualize secondary research initiatives, including systematic literature reviews and targeted reviews, in a pragmatic, solution‑oriented manner. Strengthen STRATENYM’s position in the field of market access/HEOR through various marketing initiatives, including conceptualizing and executing webinars, panel discussions, white papers, conference presentations, etc. Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for clients and other stakeholders. Methodological Expertise: Provide relevant and useful literature review and evidence synthesis expertise and advice to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and device industries. Stay abreast of advancements in systematic review methods and evidence synthesis techniques. Ensure adherence to established protocols and standards for conducting systematic reviews. Project Oversight: Oversee the planning and execution of systematic reviews and evidence synthesis projects. Coordinate with stakeholders to define research questions, search strategies, and inclusion criteria. Quality Assurance: Establish quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of systematic review outputs. Conduct internal reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and address any discrepancies. Provide guidance on reporting standards and facilitate the publication of review findings in peer‑reviewed journals. Qualifications / Requirements PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, public health, health sciences, social sciences) Extensive experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta‑analyses, including proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Covidence, Distiller, Nested Knowledge, EndNote) Strong leadership and management skills, with demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects In‑depth knowledge of research methodologies, evidence synthesis techniques, and statistical analysis methods Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences Track record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals and contributions to evidence‑based practice or policy development Proven experience in business development, including grant writing, proposal development, and partnership building Exceptional written and spoken English Confident and professional demeanour; comfort interacting with senior pharmaceutical company executives Ability to travel internationally You’d Be Great in This Role If You… Genuinely enjoy helping people develop their careers Can give clear, kind, and direct feedback Are calm, steady, and fair under pressure Can protect boundaries and enforce accountability Have strong emotional intelligence Are comfortable making decisions Have experience managing a delivery team, operations team, or cross‑functional team Thrive in environments where you’re empowered to lead, not just support #J-18808-Ljbffr
