Position Bioinformatics Researcher – Contract – Remote – 1–2 months – 10–20 hours/week Compensation: $60–$90/hour (hourly contractor classification, paid weekly via Stripe Connect) About the Company Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Role Responsibilities Evaluate AI model capabilities in bioinformatics to design and execute complex workflows. Develop benchmarks using real-world, published scientific data to test model performance. Collaborate with AI labs to ensure rigorous scientific reasoning and tool proficiency. Work independently and asynchronously to meet project goals and deadlines. Improve model outputs by providing structured feedback and enhancing training data quality. Qualifications – Must-Have Current graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) or hold a higher degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field. Experience using bioinformatics command-line tools. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interview Process 15-minute interview.
