LeverageTek is actively seeking an Information Management Specialist for a 8-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer
Work Location
The successful candidate will work primarily remotely for the duration of the contract, with occasional onsite as required
Key Tasks
- Ensure all corporate digital information is stored in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and industry regulations
- Develop standards and procedures for records maintenance across the organization
- Support a pilot project to apply retention to unstructured data stored in SharePoint
- Review the organization's Information Architecture and file plan
- Review current metadata at the site and library-level, and recommend minimum metadata requirements across the organization
- Prepare a long-term plan for electronic records management, including standards and guidelines, based on business goals
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for standardizing records management throughout the enterprise
- Develop and implement plans for successful integration of electronic records with appropriate systems.
- Investigate options to lifecycle management records in the M365 ecosystem
- Implement lifecycle management rules in SharePoint and Teams
- Incorporate data governance into new and existing procedures
- Evaluate electronic records lifecycle management tools and resources, make recommendations based on findings track standards and technologies
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of developments within the electronic records management industry
- Assist the M365 Product Owner with daily operations
- Support the M365 Product Owner with SharePoint & OneDrive
- Support existing project plans and initiatives that develop the organization's Data Governance Framework
- Recommend SharePoint and Teams disposition solution (note - no implementation will take place in 2025)
- Review and update training material on records management at the CMA
- Transfer knowledge to the internal IM/IT team
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Information Management with a focus on electronic records
- 3+ years of SharePoint experience
- Advanced knowledge of the M365 ecosystem
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in library/information sciences, computer science, information management and/or business administration
- Advanced knowledge of record keeping legislation and policies
- Experience with records and document management tools, such as SharePoint, Purview, Gimmal, RecordPoint, and Collabware
- Understanding of basic project management principles
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Analytical, detail-oriented, strong problem-solver
Assets
- Experience as a SharePoint administrator
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
