Software Architect (AI Platform) – Locations: Boston, MA; Houston, TX; Broomfield, CO; Waterloo, ON; Remote US (ET preferred) Reports to: VP, AI Engineering Quick Snapshot As Software Architect (AI Platform), you will be the primary technical visionary responsible for defining, designing, and evolving the architectural foundation of our next‑generation AI/GenAI products and solutions. You will lead architectural strategy across multiple teams and product lines, ensuring our AI systems can scale to meet enterprise demands while maintaining the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security. Why it’s a big deal You’ll be a strategic technical leader defining and driving the overall architectural vision for the AI platform, including system design, technology choices, and long‑term technical roadmap. You’ll provide architectural leadership for complex, large‑scale AI systems, act as a thought leader in AI technologies, influence cross‑functional technical decisions, and drive architectural standards and best practices across all AI/GenAI products and services. You’ll own high‑impact projects, shape the future of Conga’s products, and mentor engineers while fostering continuous learning and technical excellence. Related Experience You have 12+ years of professional software development experience, including 7+ years in AI/ML systems architecture. You have a proven track record of architecting and delivering large‑scale, production AI systems. You’ve led complex technical initiatives that required influencing cross‑functional teams while mentoring teammates, navigating change, and creating space for collaboration and growth. Technical Expertise Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, microservices, and cloud‑native design patterns Advanced knowledge of AI/ML system architecture, including training infrastructure, model serving, and MLOps pipelines Extensive experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) Deep expertise in Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, and KubeFlow Strong understanding of data architecture, including real‑time and batch processing systems, data lakes, and analytical platforms Analytical Thinker and Creative Problem Solver You utilize your expertise to navigate ambiguity and deliver impactful solutions. You’re skilled in identifying creative solutions to unique customer requirements, ensuring our customer issues are resolved in a manner that meets or exceeds their expectations without increasing their costs. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills You’re skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. You communicate priorities, trade‑offs, and goals clearly, engaging and inspiring both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strategic Thinker You balance technical excellence with business objectives. You use all of the information to form architectural decisions that support current needs and future scalability. Education You’ve completed your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Maybe you’ve even gone on to obtain your Ph.D. Here’s what will give you an edge Additional Expertise You’ve had the opportunity to architect systems for large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and foundation model deployment. You have knowledge of advanced AI techniques including multi‑modal models, reinforcement learning, and distributed training systems. You have experience with AI governance frameworks, model risk management, and responsible AI architectures. Enterprise Architecture You have experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) and architecting systems for regulatory compliance (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). You have knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, API management, and service mesh architectures. Thought Leadership You’re passionate about the AI/ML space.
