You Are a Superintendent Will Provide overall construction management, including design, budget and schedule, in conjunction with the Project Manager, Owners, Engineers and Architects to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget on large complex projects. Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Direct all aspects of on‑site construction operations including resource allocation, schedule management, and quality control to ensure timely project delivery within established budgets. Lead and develop project teams through effective supervision, communication, and performance management while establishing a culture of safety and operational excellence. Interpret and implement construction documents, blueprints, and specifications to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with design intent, building codes, and contractual requirements. Coordinate and manage all subcontractor activities including scheduling, quality assessment, and conflict resolution to maintain project momentum and contractual adherence. Conduct thorough quality assurance inspections throughout all construction phases, identifying and resolving deficiencies before they impact project timelines or client satisfaction. Establish and maintain comprehensive project documentation including daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and as‑built records to ensure contractual compliance and mitigate risk. Develop and implement site‑specific safety protocols that exceed regulatory requirements while fostering a zero‑incident work environment through regular training and enforcement. Manage project budgets through detailed cost tracking, value engineering implementation, and proactive financial reporting to optimize profitability and resource utilization. Serve as primary liaison between clients, design teams, and field personnel, facilitating clear communication and timely decision‑making to prevent project delays. Analyze construction methodologies and implement innovative techniques to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall project delivery while maintaining quality standards. Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving conflicts. Be jointly responsible to monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow. Is this the right role for you? You have a construction related degree or diploma and 8 to 15 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on large projects. Experience in healthcare, higher education, and civic‑governments projects is preferred. You have an advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings. You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.
