It’s an exciting time to join the team at Hydro One Responsibilities Distributed Energy Resources (DER) planning including completing and reviewing DER connection assessments for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and distributed generation including solar, wind, natural gas, biogas, etc. DER power system studies regarding impact to the distribution system, power quality and reliability. DER project funding and DER investment planning support. DER hosting capacity publishing and maintenance. DER technical interconnection requirements. Reviewing DER technical interconnection applications for accuracy. Maintaining DER hosting capacity technical accuracy and data. Supporting DER connection assessment impact power system studies and minor revisions utilizing tools such as CYME. Supporting release of funds for DER projects in SAP. Utilising Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to update DER data and performing queries in CRM for reporting purposes. Developing scripts/automation in Excel or Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM. Qualifications Discipline: Electrical Engineering. Academic Level: Completed 3rd year or higher electrical engineering and completion of a power systems course. Desirable: Knowledge of power system fundamentals, software scripting/programming experience, communication skills, teamwork skills, attention to details. All students applying for student opportunities must be enrolled in post‑secondary level studies and be returning to full‑time studies upon the completion of their work term (exceptions made if required for graduation).
