Here is what you will be doing:

As an integral member of the Internal Communications team, the Communications Coordinator will be part of a supportive, dynamic and fast-paced environment. With excellent writing and organization skills, this motivated individual will work with the team to deliver on our multi-year communications strategy by developing engaging content for our internal and corporate channels and tactics, managing our SharePoint-based intranet , The Pulse. The individual will manage the workflow and posting to our intranet, including community management, track communications inquiries, research and generate responses as needed, manage our Editorial Calendar, provide event management logistics support for large-scale virtual, in-person and hybrid corporate events, act as the steward for internal processes to ensure smooth operations of the team, as well as identify opportunities and help amplify awareness of the work of Ontario Health.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Coordinates updates and posting to our SharePoint-based intranet, The Pulse including oversight and management of our internal content calendar and editorial calendar tracking all planned communications activities for the corporate communications team and the analytics and metrics associated with The Pulse

  • Coordinates and distributes the weekly internal newsletter

  • Community management for our internal social networking channels

  • Develop engaging products and communications materials outlined in communications plans to support communications advisors and managers across the portfolio in internal storytelling across our channels including articles, presentation materials, visuals and videos

  • Provides peer review for communications materials and products developed within the team

  • Develops, manages tracking and reporting processes for the Corporate Communications team functions, including reports to Board and regular updates to our Senior Leadership Team

  • Coordinates and manages logistics for internal virtual, in-person and hybrid event planning, ensuring compliance to the requirement of internal and external standards, procedures, and/or accreditations (monthly leaders meeting, All-Teams Town Halls, etc.)

  • Acts as the first point of contact for internal inquiries via shared portfolio/team mailboxes; triaging and tracking requests as required

  • Develops, organizes and maintains electronic and paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems, and formats

  • Coordinates and supports corporate communications team initiatives as required

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education

  • 1-3 years of related comparable work experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Extensive experience in a Microsoft Office environment is required

  • Experience managing a SharePoint-hosted site would be an asset

  • Demonstrated experience developing and producing videos using Canva, Vyond or similar platforms would be an asset

  • Superior organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while providing assistance to multiple individuals in the presence of frequent interruptions

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare briefing reports, minutes, clear correspondence, and summaries of decisions made and further actions identified over the course of a meeting

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to use discretion in dealing with sensitive issues and maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality

  • Excellent understanding of privacy and confidentiality
