Job (Edmonton): Artistic Director Search – Walterdale Theatre Walterdale Theatre is celebrating its sixtieth (60th) season of exciting, provocative and high‑calibre theatre. Each year, dedicated volunteers create full seasons of plays ranging from the classical to the freshly‑written. The theatre, a converted historic fire hall in Old Strathcona, boasts a modern stage and technical system comparable to many Edmonton professional theatres. Visit for information on current and past seasons. Walterdale Theatre Associates is looking for an Artistic Director (AD) to lead our 2019‑20 and 2020‑21 Seasons. The AD is responsible for: proposing seasons to the Board of Directors selecting Directors for each play working with Production Managers and Directors to build artistic teams guiding artistic choices and direction with the theatre association acting as liaison between Directors and the Board of Directors directing one production per season representing Walterdale to the general public Artistic Directors typically serve a two‑year volunteer term at Walterdale. Anyone may apply; however, the best candidate will have experience as a Director outside Walterdale and/or a history with Walterdale (e.g., working on Walterdale productions in various capacities). Familiarity with Walterdale’s recent or extended history is an asset. Participation in the season’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative is also recommended.
