Solution Designer, Microsoft

The Microsoft solution designer is responsible for designing Microsoft enterprise solutions, ensuring that they meet the business and technical requirements of the organization. This role requires on-site presence. All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Responsibilities Guide on the effective use of Microsoft enterprise solutions and architectures to achieve business outcomes in alignment with business requirements Provide solution architecture design and recommendations to project team Understand business and technical requirements to provide solutions enabling business goals and support delivery outcomes Lead in designing, specifying, and selecting Microsoft enterprise solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, scalability and performance Ensure alignment with the overall Business, Application, Information and Technology principals Contribute to Enterprise Architecture principles and methods Update the Enterprise Architecture repository maintaining impacted components, relationships, and attributes Lead the organization in leveraging emerging Microsoft technology and use knowledge of IT solutions to drive organizational change and support business process design Understand and support to software architecture design and support development team in developing solutions Estimate cost, and assist in business cases for solutions, considering infra, licenses, development, and support Work with the Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop project schedule tasks and resource plans for solution deliver Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Info Systems or Business Management, or related discipline 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position, including 10 years in professional IT environment Experience providing technical direction to less experienced team members Experience working in enterprise architecture solution design in a diverse IT environment Experience creating design documents for solutions Good understanding of solution designs relevant to commercial off the Shelf (COTS) including enterprise systems Experience with web application architecture, trends and emerging technologies About Us Founded in 1882, J.D.
