Overview Associate Professor / Professor - Strategic Management. Rotman School of Management Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Existing Vacancy: Yes Responsibilities Maintain an outstanding, competitive, externally funded research program in strategic management, with a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top journals in the fields of strategy, sociology or economics (e.g., Academy of Management Journal/Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, American Journal of Sociology, Review of Economic Studies). Lead innovative and independent research and sustain ongoing research activity that contributes to the visibility and prominence of the discipline. Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including a strong ability to integrate theory and practice, effective communication and presentation skills, and willingness to supervise graduate students; experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a management program is required. Demonstrate excellence in teaching through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, teaching dossier, and performance during on-campus seminars for shortlisted candidates; teaching dossier should include a teaching statement, sample course materials, or teaching evaluations. Qualifications PhD in management or cognate discipline with a focus on strategic management (e.g., economics, sociology). Clear record of excellence in research and teaching; established international reputation; ability to sustain and lead innovative and independent research; maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Evidence of research excellence through high-impact publications in top-ranked journals in strategy, sociology or economics, and related journals; submission of research statements, conference presentations, awards, and strong referee endorsements. Experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a management program; strong demonstrated ability to integrate theory and practice; strong communication and presentation skills; willingness to undertake graduate supervision.
