WHAT YOU’LL DO We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing Supplier Quality team. We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical assembly manufacturing, structured problem solving, and supplier quality management. This role will report to the Director of Supplier Quality. Quality is at the forefront of everything we do at CoolIT. This role presents the candidate with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to and be rewarded for achieving the CoolIT business goals. This role is hybrid for Calgary. Work collaboratively with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of quality parts and assemblies that meet CoolIT engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements. Work proactively with Supply chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to define requirements and ensure supplier material, manufacturing and quality systems are capable of meeting requirements and preventing supplier quality issues. Perform on‑site supplier audits to validate compliance with quality standards. Establish and maintain a data‑based relationship with suppliers to provide visibility and support where needed. Review and approve Supplier PPAP submissions and updates. Actively participate in PFMEA and Control Plan development with suppliers to ensure they capture and mitigate potential risks. Manage supplier quality issues using 8D methodology to define the problem, assure effective containment, find root cause, verify, and validate corrective actions, and prevent recurrence. Act as single point of contact between suppliers and CoolIT to ensure effective, efficient communication. Basic Qualifications Post‑secondary Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics Minimum of 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer Demonstrated experience with AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Preferred Qualifications BASc./BEng. degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer at a Tier 1 automotive or consumer electronics supplier or OEM Lean Six Sigma and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) training Demonstrated ability to improve supplier quality performance during a period of business growth and rapidly increasing production volumes Skills APQP, PPAP, AIAG Methods: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (GR&R), Statistical Capability and Capacity Analysis Structured problem solving, one or more of: 8D, PDCA, DMAIC, 5P Design Controls: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Stack‑up Tolerance Analysis (STA) Statistical Process Capability & Control (SPC), Statistical Engineering Methods including Design of Experiments (DOE) Supplier Auditing, Scorecards, Quality Improvement Plans, Continuous Improvement Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities, Strong Project Management skills Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to ensure commitments are met. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. WHY COOLIT?
