Manage workflow, verify hours, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile payroll prior to transmission. Process withholding taxes, garnishments, time and attendance data, retro calculations, and year‑end reporting. Run and review payroll reports (GL outputs, metrics, post‑settlement reports) and address finance inquiries. Investigate pay issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrections. Support vacation tracking, rollovers, payouts, and year‑end accrual calculations. Troubleshoot payroll system integrations and workflow errors (Workday ↔ Kronos). Create custom Workday reports and assist with configuration updates, audits, and end‑to‑end testing. Act as backup for union dues, withholding orders, bank file confirmations, and automated input troubleshooting. Support on monthly remittances. Collaborate with T&D, Finance, Operations, IT, and HCM teams as a payroll partner. Respond to and resolve payroll, benefits, RRSP, pension, disability, and leave‑related inquiries. Administer benefit, pension, and RRSP enrollments and maintain ongoing updates. Manage escalations related to Benefit and Pension plans, educate Team Members on plan offerings, improve enrollment processes, ensure alignment across HCM and provider portals, reconcile invoices, and communicate benefit structure changes. Qualifications Post‑secondary education in a related field. Experience with Workday payroll systems is a requirement. 2‑4 years of experience processing Canadian payroll and benefits. Working knowledge of payroll and benefits best practices. Strong knowledge of government regulations (payroll, benefits, retirement/ pension). Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material. Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills. Excellent decision‑making; problem‑solving, and analytical skills. High attention to detail; strong organizational, multi‑tasking, and prioritizing skills. Advanced Excel, excellent computer skills. National Payroll Institute (PCP) designation preferred or in progress.
