ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Legal Counsel advises and supports the organization on human relations and labor law matters, legal compliance, and litigation prevention. A true trusted partner, he/she actively contributes to the implementation of the Code of Ethics and internal policies while supporting internal and external communication initiatives, media relations, and sustainability projects. RESPONSIBILITIES Advise management and HR on labor and employment law issues (terminations, standards, OHS, harassment, discrimination, interpretation of collective agreements, etc.). Draft and negotiate contracts, HR policies, and settlement agreements, ensuring legal compliance. Ensure the application of the Code of Ethics and related regulations. Contribute to the development and improvement of internal policies and procedures. Produce clear and relevant legal opinions and documents. Raise awareness among teams about legal and ethical obligations. Monitor regulations and ensure compliance of internal practices. Act as a resource person for external lawyers and participate in investigations. Collaborate on internal and external communication initiatives, media relations, and sustainability projects. QUALIFICATIONS Member of the Quebec Bar. Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment law. Bilingual in French and English, both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills, autonomy, judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and act as an agent of change. BENEFITS AND PERKS Group insurance.
