Your Work Environment In this role, you will be part of the Geotechnical team based in the Kingston, ON office, joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities. What a Day at EXP Has in Store for You Developing and maintaining business relationships with clients Preparing proposals for geotechnical services for civil engineering projects, including cost estimates and timelines Planning and carrying out assignments requiring familiarity with a broad range of geotechnical engineering concepts Coordinating with clients, suppliers and third parties to achieve project objectives Managing projects to meet client objectives, including staff briefing, scheduling, budget control and utilization management Directing field activities, including investigation, monitoring and testing services on construction projects Attending project meetings and carrying out site inspections as needed Reviewing and interpreting monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation programs Carrying out data analysis, including computer analyses Writing and reviewing technical reports Working with senior staff on complex matters; performing independent studies and analyses Working independently with minimal supervision when appropriate Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, municipal staff and other stakeholders Continuing technical skills development and mentoring junior staff Coaching and developing junior geotechnical employees What Your Experience Looks Like P.Eng. Designation from Ontario is required Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering Minimum 5 years of relevant geotechnical experience; consulting background preferred Experience as a Project Manager in geotechnical investigations, design and construction control Experience managing engineering teams (intermediate and junior professionals and technicians) Development of comprehensive scopes of work to client requirements Strong use of high-level engineering principles and adherence to standards and criteria Budgetary control including scope changes due to client requirements and site conditions Ability to report project assignments on schedule Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Proven business development skills to generate geotechnical services and acquire new clients Experience with complex geotechnical investigations and design work Proven mentoring of junior engineering staff Strong communication (verbal and written), diplomacy, organization and time management Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies Ability to work in a team environment and advanced computer analysis skills Valid driver’s license and vehicle Equity and Accommodation EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
