Our valued federal government is seeking a Senior Engineer that holds experience using Finite Element Methods.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural load and strength substantiation analysis of mechanical components/assemblies of moderate to high complexity using Finite Element Method (FEM).
  • Perform static and dynamic/event stress analyses of metallic and composite components/assemblies.
  • Correlate FEA of mechanical components/assemblies with field data and provide feedback to subject matter experts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Has a minimum of eight (8) years of combined experience within the past ten (10) years using Finite Element Methods (FEM) in the following areas: Static modeling, dynamic modeling and non-linear modeling.
  • Has a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the past five (5) years using Finite Element Methods (FEM) in high strain rate modeling.
  • Has a minimum of five (5) years of combined experience within the last eight (8) years in the following fields: solid mechanics and engineering materials
  • Has a minimum of five (5) years of combined experience within the last eight (8) years in the design verification of mechanical systems and components.
  • Has a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in utilizing ANSYS software to conduct finite element analyses.

Education

Must hold a university degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized academic institution
