The Work This position is responsible for supporting Enterprise Compliance subject matter experts (SMEs) on establishing compliance with minimum qualifying criteria established by the Office of the Superintendent Financial Institutions, Canada (“OSFI”) to adopt the Advanced Internal Ratings Based (AIRB) approach to calculating regulatory capital. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Director, Enterprise Compliance in providing oversight for the Bank’s AIRB Implementation Program (the “Program”) in accordance with OSFI Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR) guidelines and senior management expectations. This includes providing regulatory capital guidance, instituting governance and controls, and supporting the Bank’s full AIRB application and ongoing Basel operations post-approval. While posted as a Senior Manager, candidates with deeper leadership experience and strategic capability may be considered for expanded scope aligned with Associate Director expectations. Basel Compliance SME (65%) Interpret OSFI CAR requirements and translate into actionable business and data requirements Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on AIRB standards and compliance Support first line teams in completing self‑assessments; conduct second line reviews Identify and validate regulatory compliance gaps; develop and track gap closure plans Coordinate documentation and approvals for AIRB application package Maintain and evolve the Basel Compliance Framework to meet ongoing regulatory expectations Communicate effectively with Basel Program team members to ensure consistent execution Support internal and external audit activities related to AIRB readiness Contribute to the evolution of Basel compliance practices in alignment with industry standards Enterprise Compliance Governance and Compliance Management (35%) Create and maintain governance processes, templates, and controls for compliance risk Perform analytics and develop presentations for Leadership Steering Committees Analyze compliance gaps and recommend appropriate controls and mitigations Document and enforce controls within the corporate compliance tool Support regulatory change management and assess impact of OSFI updates Build strong relationships across Risk, Finance, Technology, and Business Units to ensure program success Mentor junior team members and contribute to staffing and training recommendations Let's Talk About You 5–8 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Regulatory Affairs Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred Strong understanding of OSFI Basel AIRB requirements and self‑assessment processes Experience in credit risk, adjudication, or regulatory capital modeling Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage senior stakeholders Proven ability to manage complex programs and regulatory deliverables under tight timelines Leadership experience and ability to mentor team members Ability to pro‑actively identify and solve problems and elevate issues through the proper governance protocols and channels with OSFI Basel AIRB compliance processes Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills What we offer (For full‑time permanent roles) Competitive discretionary bonus Market leading RRSP match program Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits Employee Share Purchase Plan Maternity/Parental top‑up while you care for your little one Generous vacation policy and personal days Virtual events to connect with your fellow colleagues Annual professional development allowance and a comprehensive Career Development program A fulfilling opportunity to join one of the top FinTechs and help create a new kind of banking experience The incumbent will be working hybrid and in‑office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200‑25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON .
