Vice President, Private Equity Investment

Our client is a successful and established small family office with an emphasis on direct private equity investing across North American in lower mid-market companies. Taking significant positions, they invest across diverse industries. As a result of their success and presence in the market, they have a robust pipeline of opportunities and are looking to add to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has transactional experience, understands the private equity investment process, wants breadth in their role, enjoys an entrepreneurial environment and wants to work closely with a highly respected and accomplished senior team.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of new platform investments, deal execution and portfolio management
  • Industry research across diverse sectors to assess merits and risks for presentation to senior members
  • Deal execution including financial modeling, due diligence, valuation, returns analysis, coordinating third parties, interaction with management teams
  • Experience developing relationships with lower mid market management teams
  • Attend various industry networking events
  • Mentor and manage work of junior team member
  • Develop strong private equity investment acumen
  • Become a valuable and integral member of the investment team

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in M&A advisory services with an accounting firm, investment bank, corporate development, private equity or search fund
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration, CPA an asset
  • Strong interest in private equity investing within the lower mid market
  • Experience with the private equity investment processes
  • Strong experience in financial modeling and due diligence with strong attention to detail
  • Real estate investment or accounting experience is a plus
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office products (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Well-developed business acumen across diverse industry sectors
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working independently, strong work ethic with a focus on quality work
  • Amiable, curious professional who takes initiative, wants to become an integral member of the investment team
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in such an environment
