Why this role is important: As a Pharmacy Data Technician, you will input prescriptions into MediSystem Pharmacy's pharmacy computer system and manage patient/resident electronic records. You will communicate important information between colleagues and external partners (physicians/nurses at long-term care facilities) related to prescriptions and profiles. What you’ll do (Responsibilities) Retrieve faxed or electronic physician orders, prescriptions, or requests for prescription refills Enter prescriptions, refills, and prescription changes into the patient’s record Create new patient profiles and maintain existing patient records in the MediSystem database Prepare prescription label printouts Perform ad hoc tasks as required Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging What you bring (Qualifications) Excellent organization and time management skills Strong communication skills (oral and written) Self-motivated with a passion for providing high quality client services and building relationships Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple computer systems quickly Accurate and efficient data entry with attention to detail ( prescriptions ) Preferred: Undergraduate degree with focus in science and/or a Pharmacy related diploma/certificate Previous experience using Kroll is an asset Previous experience/knowledge with weekly dispensing (multi-dose or compliance packaging) is an asset Additional information This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts during business hours, including occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
