Student Engagement and Admissions Officer Toronto, ON • February 6, 2026 Reporting to the Director, Office of the Dean and working in close collaboration with the Basic Degree Director, the academic Program Directors, the Registrar, the Director of Field Education and Pastoral Formation, the Student Engagement and Admissions Officer administers the degree, diploma, and certificate programs of the Faculty of Theology. Through the administration of the programs, the Student Engagement and Admissions Officer cultivates relationships with potential students, facilitates applications and admissions, and oversees student progress through the various programs of study. If you require accessibility accommodation, please contact Human Resources at Job Details DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities of the Student Engagement and Admissions Officer include, but are not limited to, the following: Recruitment Functions as the first point of contact for all potential students (email, telephone, personal) encouraging applications. Coordinates on-campus visits, appointments with program directors and faculty (depending on student interest). In coordination with the Director, Office of the Dean, is responsible for implementing and assessing the strategic enrollment plan. Advises the Dean of Theology Office and the USMC Communications Office on material and content to support marketing and recruitment strategies (e.g. student success and alumni stories, program landing pages and brochures, social media calendar, print and online advertising, email newsletters, faculty news/updates; and opportunities for cross promotion within the university). Ensures that the RSM Theology website is actively updated with current program and event information. As part of the faculty recruitment team, attends university fairs and events to promote Faculty of Theology programs. Admissions & Financial Aid In consultation with the Basic Degree Director, make recommendations for admissions to the Basic Degree Committee. Maintains the admissions portal, and works closely with registrarial staff on collecting application materials for all program offerings (with the exception of some graduate degree applications). Ensures students are aware of financial aid and scholarship opportunities and policies, while providing written feedback to the Financial Aid Committee for financial aid requests. Program Advising Coordinates the work of the Basic Degree Committee, in collaboration with the Director, Basic Degree programs. Serves as the program advisor for all Basic Degree Students, as delegated by the Basic Degree Director, including course selection in keeping with the different program requirements and policies, student career objectives, ministerial aspirations, etc., and assist with requests for thesis and major paper writing, reading and research courses, course extensions. Some advising is overseen by the Basic Degree Director, for students in ordination-track formation programs. Maintains up-to-date records on student program advising. Tracks course extensions, monitors program lapses and leaves of absence, facilitates requests to take courses outside of TST. Is the first point of contact for Advanced Degree students, directing them to resources at the Graduate Centre for Theological Studies, and working in collaboration with the Advanced (Graduate) Degree Director. Vets files for graduation and presents the slate of those who meet the requirements for graduation to the respective academic governing bodies of RSM. Educational Evaluation and Assessment Is responsible for quality assurance processes that involve the following: inquiries, applications, acceptances, date to degree completion, student progress, and graduation and attrition rates for all programs. This area includes compiling statistical reports. Works with the Director, Office of the Dean and the Registrar on quality assurance process and educational evaluation (for example, for the UofT Quality Assurance Process, Association of Theological Schools). Attends select meetings (under the direction of the Director, Office of the Dean of Theology) of the Toronto School of Theology that involve student experience, recruitment and enrolment management, and registrarial services. Student Experience Serves as a liaison with student councils, and encourages excellence in the student experience in community and worship life. Supports student vocational discernment, as well as directing students to resources for spiritual life, health and well-being, accessibility and accommodations. Works with the Director, Office of the Dean and the Registrar on the faculty convocations. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE A Bachelor’s Degree. A theological degree is an asset. 3 years of experience in university-level recruitment and enrollment services Supportive of the mission of RSM with familiarity with programs offered by the Faculty of Theology as well as knowledge of the University of St. Michael’s College and the Toronto School of Theology Thorough knowledge of the Roman Catholic ecclesial culture and context Excellent oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills Friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing, with well-developed interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with great attention to detail A proven team worker Available to work some weekends and evenings Knowledge of the Catholic school system an asset Excellent knowledge of and extensive experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media Knowledge of university record systems, IT applications, policies, and procedures How to Apply Please apply by submitting your résumé and cover letter to: In the email subject line, please include your full name and the title of the position title for which you are applying.
