Evening Janitor and Receptionist

Support residents at Astoria Senior Apartments in Ottawa through evening janitorial, reception, telephone, and emergency response duties from 4 PM to midnight.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this part-time Janitor maintains common areas while running the front desk. The work combines cleaning, sanitation, reception, laundry, and resident support. You will also coordinate visitors, calls, mail, packages, and meeting rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run the front desk courteously and efficiently
• Answer calls, redirect inquiries, and take messages
• Greet, assist, and direct visitors
• Clean and sanitize common areas
• Respond to emergency systems and resident concerns

Requirements:

• English communication skills demonstrating empathy and patience
• Knowledge of institutional cleaning techniques
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Current Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening
