Primary Caseload: Return to Work Support Services Kinesiologist

Courtenay, BC and surrounding area


Return to Work Support Services (RTWSS) is a WorkSafeBC funded service. The goal is to provide services to enable clients recovering from physical injuries to return to their pre-accident employment. Duties include Job Site Visits (JSVs) to determine critical job demands or complete job coaching, functional screening assessments, development and monitoring of Graduated Return to Work (GRTW) plans and provision of education on symptom management and ergonomic strategies to facilitate a durable return to work. As a clinician working on our Return-to-Work team, you play an integral role in your client’s return to the workforce and you will also communicate with physicians, WorkSafeBC board officers and other members of the client’s healthcare team to ensure a well coordinated program for your clients.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one year experience in conducting Job Site Visits and GRTWs
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics
  • Must be a member of BCAK
  • Must possess individual professional liability insurance
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to use for work
  • Strong negotiation skills is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, self-confidence and self-awareness
  • Experience working with an insurance fee payer (e.g. WorkSafe BC,ICBC, or other) is required
  • Able to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplinary team as required
