Our unique culture and commitment to growth makes the company a great place to build your career. The Role PETRONAS Canada is seeking an experienced Gas Trader to join our team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the General Manager, Marketing & Origination, this role is responsible to manage and optimize a portfolio of physical and financial natural gas positions across North American markets. The successful candidate will identify trading opportunities, manage exposure within risk limits, and drive profitability through a deep understanding of market fundamentals and pricing dynamics. How You Will Contribute Trade physical and financial natural gas in daily, monthly, and term markets Optimize transport, storage, and supply positions to capture market value Manage market and credit risks within approved trading limits Develop and execute hedging strategies using futures, swaps, and options Conduct market analysis and provide input into trading and optimization strategies Build strong relationships with counterparties, producers, and pipeline operators Ensure compliance with internal controls, risk policies, and regulatory standards What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or CFA/FRM/MBA considered an asset 8+ years of experience in physical and/or financial gas trading Proven track record in generating profits and managing risk Familiarity with ETRM systems (e.g., EKA, Endur, Allegro, RightAngle) preferred Strong understanding of North American gas markets, transportation, and storage Knowledge of key hubs and indexes: AECO / NIT, Dawn, Empress, Station 2, Henry Hub, Chicago Citygate, Sumas Experience with Henry Hub futures, basis swaps, and options will be preferred Proficient with ICE, NGX, CME, and price reporting agencies (Platts, NGI) Ability to interpret pipeline tolls and nomination schedules (TC Energy, Alliance, Enbridge) Why You Should Join Our Team Flexible work arrangements which include a compressed work week with Friday afternoons off for office-based roles Dress for your day - a casual yet professional environment Ability to contribute to a dynamic organization with large growth ambitions Competitive compensation and bonus programs Top tier benefit package, including a generous Health and Wellness Spending Account and Savings Plan Making a positive difference in our communities through volunteerism, community support and providing opportunities to those in the areas where we operate Annual employee-directed charity donation program Support for training and professional development PETRONAS Canada would like to thank all applicants for their interest in joining our team; however only the candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
