Employer Industry: Grocery Delivery and E-commerce Why consider this job opportunity Salary up to $207,000 CAD Eligible for new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants Flexible remote work options, allowing you to work from home or other locations Opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team Engage in meaningful work that impacts millions of customers Collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and community What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and execution for the managed database platform Lead and develop a team of engineers, fostering an inclusive and high-ownership culture Design and operate multi-tenant database offerings with strong availability and performance guarantees Build automation and control planes for provisioning, backup/restore, and disaster recovery Partner with cross-functional teams to migrate legacy systems and accelerate platform adoption What is Required (Qualifications) 8+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years in people management 5+ years of experience building and operating production database platforms or services at scale Hands‑on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS or GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform) Strong expertise in high availability and disaster recovery for relational databases Proven ability to define and deliver a platform roadmap and lead cross‑functional initiatives How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience designing or operating control planes and Kubernetes operators for databases Deep knowledge of open‑source databases and data stores, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL Background with multi‑tenant architectures and safe migration patterns Strong observability and reliability practices, including experience with tools like Prometheus/Grafana Domain experience in e-commerce or high‑throughput transactional systems #GroceryDelivery #Ecommerce #RemoteWork #EngineeringManagement #DatabasePlatforms #CareerOpportunity We prioritize candidate privacy and champion equal‑opportunity employment.
