Apiary Technician Honey Harvesting

Honey harvesting and apiary management define this seasonal, full-time Apiary Technician position at Matperud Apiary Inc. in Elmvale, Ontario.

Work takes place at the rural physical location, with no remote option. The position requires seven months to less than one year of experience. Duties involve maintaining bee yards, managing colonies, detecting diseases, extracting honey, and packaging honey and beeswax for production and pollination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain bee yards and beekeeping equipment
• Work with honey bees in all weather conditions
• Detect bee diseases and treat bees with antibiotics
• Harvest, extract, and package honey and beeswax
• Manage colonies for honey production and pollination

Requirements:

• Seven months to less than one year of experience
• Apiary management and honey harvesting experience
• Ability to handle loads up to 23 kilograms
• Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
• Authorized to work in Canada
