People like youJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Security/Scale Operator to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Calgary, AB location.This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant produces premium asphalt roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous manufacturing process environment.Key Responsibilities:Continuously check the Security system and the gate/area monitors to ensure that the security of the IKO premises is not compromisedPrint the necessary scale tickets, bills of lading and custom papers for Truck Drivers. Obtain the necessary signatures and forward copies to the billing departmentScaling in and out trucksRefuse to release any unsafe load and report the matter to the Shipping Supervisor or HSE Business Partner immediatelyDirect carriers to appropriate loading docks/placesCommunicate with Shippers the waiting time of carriers and control road trafficCarry out Security rounds as scheduled, completing the required record and checksMaintain various tracking documents and shipment logsPrepare customs documents for Canada and overseasMaintain and order supplies for shipping officeCommunicate with Order Center on problems surrounding out-bound pick-listsConduct hourly checks of all fire heaters within the facility and correct deficiencies.Conduct security patrols around the facility checkpoints.During down times, will help with shipping and receiving tasks as assigned.Other Duties as assignedQualifications:4th Class Power Engineer designationProven Computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel and ability to use a copier, and scan/fax functionsAbility to communicate effectively and diplomatically both verbally and in writingMust be self-motivated, versatile, and able to make good use of time in slower periods by supporting other departments as requestedMust be customer focused (both internal and external) and have a good attitudePrevious experience with material handling & distribution warehouses preferredAble to work independently as well as part of a teamGood organizational, time management, and prioritizing skillsStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeWageStarting wage for the position is $23.65/Hour.
